Stone Cold Fox Moving Sale Was a Total BUST!

Stone Cold Fox Moving Sale Was a Total BUST!

When we heard that Stone Cold Fox was having a HUGE moving sale past Saturday, and everything, including vintage pieces and photo shoot props, would be sold, we could not wait! Moreover, word on the street was that prices would start at just $2! Sadly, we planned poorly for this one. We got to the one-day sale around noon and the line literally wrapped around the corner. It was about a 4-hour wait, and we just did not have the strength or patience to wait this one out. People lined up EARLY. We spoke to a couple of the lucky ones that got in as they were leaving. They got there around 8AM and didn’t get into the sale until about 11AM. There were 3 rooms, filled with “good stuff” and the prevalent price point was $30. Oh well, whatever.

If you were lucky enough to get into the sale, let us know what you got so we can live vicariously through you.

CHANEL Hearts LA with “I Love Coco” Backstage Beauty Lounge at Bar Marmont!

CHANEL Hearts LA with “I Love Coco” Backstage Beauty Lounge at Bar Marmont!

It was about this time last year that Louis Vuitton brought its Series 2 exhibit to Los Angeles (read our review of that here), and just a couple weeks ago Saint Laurent held its Fall 2016 fashion show at the Palladium in Hollywood. And now, during Oscars weekend, Chanel too has come to LA, setting up its “I Love Coco” slash “Coco Loves LA” Backstage Beauty Lounge at Bar Marmont on Sunset Blvd.

For the last 4 days, Chanel did not hold back, taking up the entire venue and bringing us manicures, lip treatments, photo booth, temporary tattoos, free valet, and “mocktails”, with a setting so elaborate that every inch of the place was totally Instragram-able. There was even opportunity to get your manicure photographed like a Chanel ad, which was instantly emailed to you. Also, they won us over with the FREEBIES, event posters and button pins free for the taking. It was like being in Wonderland but Chanel. It was the best 2 hours we’d spent in a long time.

We really hope this encourages other big design houses to come to our town and hold similar parties. Do you hear us, Dior? Hermes? Coach? Celine?

StyleCon 2015 Comes to The Hangar at OC Fair!

StyleCon 2015 Comes to The Hangar at OC Fair!

StyleCon is a one-day ticketed event where fashion and beauty collide. We were invited to attend this year’s event, happening at the Hangar OC Fair & Event Center yesterday, Nov 7. The 6-hour day was jam-packed with beauty booths, braid bars, pop-up shops, panelists and giveaways, plus appearances by Miss California (Natasha Martinez), Miss Teen California (Melanie Mitchell) and Tess Holliday (the plus size model featured in Vogue Italia, People Magazine and LA Weekly). Also, for you 80’s fans out there, Cambrie Schroeder (daughter of Silver Spoons actor Ricky Schroeder) performed with her dance team.

There were plenty of beauty and retail stations spread throughout the venue.  Among them, Glam Squad gave complimentary make-up applications and Blushington offered “blush ups” throughout the day. Jaunt Beauty Co offered free manicures in their decked-out VW van, and Ardell had a lash application booth.  Also, Topshop and Sleek Hair Beauty had pop-up shops. Other sponsors and exhibitors included Blowtique, Crocs, Sinful Eyewear, Skin Laundry, Skinny Pop Popcorn, Honest Tea, Vita Coco, and Luella Boutique (where we think we spotted Lynn Curtin, a former Real Housewife of the OC).

Attendees were a mix of fashion and beauty stylists, retailers, social media stars and fashion and beauty fans from all walks of life. It was a fun-filled day for all! For more info on StyleCon, click here.

Saks Off 5th Store Bows at Beverly Connection

Saks Off 5th Store Bows at Beverly Connection

More good news for budget-conscious shoppers, like us! The Saks Off 5th store at the Beverly Connection debuted earlier this week. It’s the perfect complement to its already-existing off-price and low price neighbors, Nordstrom Rack, Target, Marshall’s, Ross and Old Navy. The Beverly Connection is fast-becoming a veritable discount gold mine.

We stopped by last night to see what Off 5th had to offer and found a real treasure trove, especially in the accessories department. We loved the designer sunglasses area which included sunnies from Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Miu Miu and Prada ($99-$119), as well as Wildfox, an LA-local favorite of celebrities everywhere ($79).

Downstairs you’ll find all womens’ jewelry and small accessories, and designer clothing, including Michael Kors, Vince, Free People, and Tory Burch. We spotted Wildfox fleece beach jumpers and sweatpants for $54.99. Also, there are racks of clearance ready to wear. However, much of the clearance is “direct buys” (merchandise made specifically for the outlet and not actually sold at Saks stores).

Upstairs there’s all the mens’ clothing, as well as womens’ and mens’ shoes, and handbags. There was a decent selection of designer and contemporary handbags, like Prada ($699-1599), Gucci ($1299), Valentino ($225-$589), Marc Jacobs ($235), Stella McCartney ($469), Marni ($375), Rebecca Minkoff, and Wildfox ($42.99-$49.99). However, the high-end bags were still very pricey, with tags starting at $225 up to $1599. You could probably find better deals at any department stores’ end of season clearance sales.

The store looks great and we love that we don’t have to drive 30 miles out of LA to get here. Our only disappointment is that there is no Cosmetics Company shop-in-shop, like at most other Off 5th stores. However, there are some pretty good deals to be had, and although there are no additional markdowns yet, all the merchandise is shiny and new. So if you’re looking to score, definitely go now. Good luck!

Victoria’s Secret Re-Opens Santa Monica Store with Its Very Own VS Pink Store

Victoria’s Secret Re-Opens Santa Monica Store with Its Very Own VS Pink Store

As part of Victoria’s Secrets’ plan for world domination, they’ve re-opened its Santa Monica store and it’s bigger, better and Pink-store adjacent! Both stores have more merchandise, better displays, gorgeous dressing rooms and big screens televisions, that have their annual fashion show playing on loop. The Victoria’s Secret store offers the full VS Sport collections (before the sport collections were housed only at the Beverly Center store) and the VS Pink store has EVERYTHING Pink, including beauty, accessories and their beloved campus collections. It seems that Victoria’s Secret is modelling all their new and newly renovated shops to look like their flagship store in Herald Square in New York.

Check out our photo journey below and stop by this weekend to take advantage of the limited time promos and deals going on now at both stores!
