CHANEL Hearts LA with “I Love Coco” Backstage Beauty Lounge at Bar Marmont!

CHANEL Hearts LA with “I Love Coco” Backstage Beauty Lounge at Bar Marmont!

It was about this time last year that Louis Vuitton brought its Series 2 exhibit to Los Angeles (read our review of that here), and just a couple weeks ago Saint Laurent held its Fall 2016 fashion show at the Palladium in Hollywood. And now, during Oscars weekend, Chanel too has come to LA, setting up its “I Love Coco” slash “Coco Loves LA” Backstage Beauty Lounge at Bar Marmont on Sunset Blvd.

For the last 4 days, Chanel did not hold back, taking up the entire venue and bringing us manicures, lip treatments, photo booth, temporary tattoos, free valet, and “mocktails”, with a setting so elaborate that every inch of the place was totally Instragram-able. There was even opportunity to get your manicure photographed like a Chanel ad, which was instantly emailed to you. Also, they won us over with the FREEBIES, event posters and button pins free for the taking. It was like being in Wonderland but Chanel. It was the best 2 hours we’d spent in a long time.

We really hope this encourages other big design houses to come to our town and hold similar parties. Do you hear us, Dior? Hermes? Coach? Celine?

Few Pieces of Lemaire x Uniqlo Still Left at Beverly Center for Less Than $20!

Even though this limited time collaboration from Christophe Lemaire (formerly Creative Director of Hermes) and Uniqlo reportedly sold out in a few hours, you can actually still get the wool overcoat at the Beverly Center for just $19.90! It was originally priced at $189.90 and did we already mention that this collection SOLD OUT fast? As of today, there were only a few extra smalls, smalls and one medium left in black only. (Also, if you’re still jones-ing for some J+ (Jil Sander collaboration), we spotted a couple of black wool blazers (medium and extra large only) also for $19.90.)

If you missed out on Lemaire’s first collection for Uniqlo, fret not, the sequel is coming soon to select Uniqlo stores this Spring!

Victoria’s Secret Giving Out FREE Mini Footballs for Superbowl / Valentines Day Promotion!

So what’s more American than football and lingerie? Well, on this very special Superbowl weekend, those two worlds collide as the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers duke it out for winner of Superbowl 50 and Victoria’s Secret gets its game on (see what we did there?) with all kinds of in-store and online promotions for its #scoremore weekend. Of course, this includes a very cheeky TV advert during the big game. Also, Superbowl happens to fall exactly 1 week before Valentine’s Day, so VS was smart to cash in on this commercial eclipse now.

Even if you’re totally broke and just can’t buy another bra or thong, starting today, select Victoria’s Secret stores are giving away (yes,  FOR FREE) a highly collectible, mini pink football just for trying on a sport bra (any sport bra) and there’s no obligation to buy! Other promotions include:

  • 30% off a single full-priced Sport bra
  • FREE reward card (in stores only)
  • $15 Reward Card with $75 purchase
  • $20 Reward Card with $150 purchase

RIP Kitson on Melrose Ave

RIP Kitson on Melrose Ave

Our last Kitson visit was to the Melrose store in West Hollywood, just a few hours before closing. This store probably had the most leftover stock but it was basically the same stuff as the Robertson and Santa Monica stores, just more of it. However, pricing here was a bit wonky. Basically, everything was also 90% off but then some things were specifically priced, like all womens’ & kids’ clothes $2.99 and mens’ shirts $6.99. Dog Christmas ornaments were going for 4 for $1. Kitson lanyards and coin purses were also $1. We spotted the same shirts (including the same styles for kids!) and same sippy cups found at Santa Monica, Kitson lanyards, dog Christmas ornaments, a few books, a “Spin the Shot” game going for just a buck and a few Kitson coin purses. If you really looked, you could maybe find a half-used bottle of perfume or something (also just $1). Some lucky shoppers got to take home the Kitson shopping baskets for just $2 each. In the final hour, all clothing was marked down to a meager $1, and that’s all she wrote.

Check out the photos below, and say your last goodbyes.

Kitson in Santa Monica DUNZO

Kitson in Santa Monica DUNZO

Hey, we forgot all about the Santa Monica store! In our previous post about Kitson’s closing, we forgot to mention this one of the two remaining stores. Today was also the final day for the store located prominently at Third Street Promenade.

We stopped by around lunch time to see what was left and as expected, we found a near-empty space with just a few racks of shirts, which really consisted of a bunch of shirts of the same style, including plain oversized tanks.  We also saw a table of sippy cups, a few books by the register, a few greeting cards, and random Christmas ornaments. Markdowns here also reached 90% off everything. Some items were specifically priced, resulting in an even deeper discount, such as the BLTees, which were all marked $4.99 (orig. $58). Also, Kitson key chains (orig. $4.95) were 10 for $1, and Hello Kitty Christmas ornaments (orig $8.95) were 5 for $1.

Check out the photos below and say your last goodbyes.
